Before I retired, for years the usual polite question was asked on returning to work about how colleagues' festivities went, and for years the usual answers were either 'quiet' or 'I was ill throughout, and couldn't even face Christmas dinner''.

(I know what 'ill' means, but was never sure whether 'quiet' was a good or bad thing...  )

Anyway, hope you are all well enough to enjoy Christmas as noisily or quietly as you choose!
