Title: growing beetroot with brassicas
Post by: trogg on May 01, 2010, 09:09
Hi again, I've planted beetroot, swede, turnip and radish in the same bed because I thought they were all root vegetables  will this upset the crop rotation or will it be ok ?

Was going to plant some more today but I'll wait and see what answers I get first  :)

Not sure about the crop rotation but I grew beets and cabbage together last year and had great success

I also grew beets in with brassicas last season - can't see why not. Will be trying to do more successional sowing with the beetroot this year. Made some lovely pickle from them - finished now  :( To be honest, over the years, I have just put the beetroot in wherever I felt there was space. Didn't think you had to move them around - I just did it for convenience
