I have some week old Dutch chicks, all appear healthy.
They have decided to pick on one little chick and keep pecking its feet and have made them bleed quite badly. Cleaned them up , kept it separate for a couple of hours, purple spray on wounds. Put it back in with others and within a few seconds they are all pecking it again, horrible to watch.
Have got it in a little plastic box with netting over the top in the brooder but they keep jumping on the top and trying to peck it through the netting. Cant believe tiny chicks can be so nasty.
I have more chicks hatching today and I tried putting the chick in with them because it is very tiny- guess what - it immediately started pecking the babies so had to take it out.
Any ideas please because its driving me nuts chirping to get back to the others!!

Think I've read somewhere putting tea tree cream on helps stop pecking
Apparently they don't like the taste ?

I didnt realise they could do that either!  not at such a young age!

What sort of heat lamp are you using? maybe switch to an electric hen or dull emitter to reduce light stimulation.
Also check the sell buy date of your chick crumb, ensure that it is fresh. Add some chopped egg as a distracton in a red feeder. Hope this helps!

The chick crumbs are a new sack last week and I am using a dull emitter.
Will try the egg in a red dish though. These do seem really nasty chicks though, they even peck my fingers!
