Title: chick still got problem

Hi all some of you may remember my thread about one of my chicks, unfortuantly its no better  :( her knee seems to bend the wrong way, she holds it straight all the time, I dont think it will get any better have any of the breeders on here got any idias  :wacko:

Think I have read that if they don't improve within days there is not much you can do.  Sure someone else will either confirm this or give you additional advice.  Sorry.   :(

Have to say I dont think it will improve now, I hatched quite a few eggs last year chickens and guinea fowl, there was the odd chick had this problem. I tried all the various suggestions but ultimately most had to be put down  :(
That is the slight down side unfortunately.

Sounds like its possibly a ligament problem or bone deformity,.. either way the only way is to put her out of her discomfort :(  sorry

Thanks for all your advice i think deep down i had already resigned myself to what had to be done  :( just didnt want to take that step

Unfortunately it it is the saddest part of hatching, Tony.

And believe me, while it is horible, it is easier to do it at a couple of days old than a couple of weeks old :(
