Raspberry Canes in the compost bin?

I put my Autmn raspberry cuttings in the compost bin but they are not so woody as Summer ones that you will be cutting out now. You could chop them up and just put the thinner bits in. They do eventually break down.

Rhubarb leaves are fine for the heap.

The really woody canes make good pea sticks if left to dry out until next year so they don't root.

I thought of that but was worried about them rooting didn't think of drying them out thanks for that, mine are at the moment balanced near the compost bin waiting to be chopped up and put in
