Hi Neil,
I would deadhead them and then give them some blood, fish and bone. This will help them bulk up for next years flowering.

You don't have to deadhead. It looks neater and it was perceived to be more beneficial for the bulbs to put on new growth but there is debate about that. In a more natural planting setting like mine, I don't usually do it, but in a more formal setting you might wish to.

Do not bend the leaves over.

I just leave mine to die down and refeed the bulb themselves with some fish, blood and bone.
I hate the untidiness of it but I can live with it. I get great comments about my daff display out the front of the house. They start flowering during the first 5 days of January as a rule. :D

If Brian leaves ours to die down, they come up better the following year, but he often gets fed up with them looking untidy and mows them down!   :(

My Dad used to just tie the clumps together with twine until they were really brown.

Plant them in those blue plastic mushroom crates then next spring when the flower's have gone over you can lift the whole lot and put somewhere out of site to die down. Just re-plant the whole caboodle in the Autumn.

Lifting and replanting them every year sounds like a whole load of unnecessary faff!  ::)

I don't lift mine.  They just sit there, some in the front border, the rest in the middle of the lawn.  They die down, Brian mows the grass, then next year they come up again!

If I could be bothered, I would. :)
I wouldn't have anywhere to store them thinking about it! :D
