Hope you enjoy your break Suzi. :)

Thanks for the heads up Auntiemogs. I was unsure what normal prices were but after a quick google it seems gooseberry plants are normally closer to £10 each so this is a real bargain!! I'll pop to Aldi after work and see what's left...

we didn't get any! :(

Unlucky Shetan. There were several left at my local store so i grabbed the healthy ones that don't need greenhouses - a black, a blue, a tay and a red gooseberry. Thanks again auntie!!

Then as I got through the checkout, I saw someone putting a blueberry back!!!!
Couldn't afford the 20 minutes to queue up again. :(

I bought some of these small cheap bushes a couple of years back. Thought I'd let you know how they did:
1. The tayberry and logan berries have been awesome and this year have given a couple of pounds of fruit each They do need support and grows shoots about 7-8ft long: blckbirds eat the fruit before it is fully ripe if you let them. Will be even better next year
2. The blue berries double in size each year. They have not yet flowered but might do next year. Blackbirds love these too and will eat the fruit before it goes blue (I have some older bushes)
3. The goji berry is a thug that has been relocated not the verge at the back of our plot. It flowered last year and we had three fruits (sour  )
Overall good value :D :D :D

Gogiberries get big do they? I might replant it already!

Goji berries throw out huge long branches, which do have thorns hidden in amongst the leaves too. In a year ours got a metre tall and we were hacking back the branches so we could get along the path.
Dug it up in the autumn and transferred it out of the plot to the verge.
They did used to be used as hedging plants in yester year, and are gaining in popularity again. Plnat them a metre apart and they soon join up :D

I got one of the Kiwi plants, then learnt that you can get male and female plants. Does anyone know if these ones are self fertile?

Jenny is self fertile and grows well in this country.
