Grisselle (something like that). bought them at d**ies at extortion prices... planted around mid october. no sign of sprout till couple of days ago. Will I be lucky?

You should be OK. Like winter onions they'll establish themselves before the cold weather comes and then do nothing.

Once it warms up they'll romp away.
