Today has been a Good Day
« on: February 13, 2011, 16:23 »
First of all I got 4 window boxes planted up with primroses and violas.

Then I went through all my seeds (how many packets do I have  ::) ) and I now have lots and lots of seed planted up and under cover in my new plastic balcony greenhouse.

I planted:

Cucumber - Lemon
Cucumber - Marketeer
Aubergine
Celery - Elne
Lettuce - Sucrine
Tomato - Cerise
Tomato - Green Zebra
Tomato - Gold Perle
Tomato - Gold nugget

I also got some petunias, nastertiums  and french marigolds planted.

I might be a bit over zealous, but I didn't grow a single tomato plant last year and I felt really deprived!

I'm on the lookout for some "Yellow Pear" tomato, though I have a feeling some suppliers are better then others;  I first grew Yellow Pear about 10 years ago, and as well as being a bright yellow/gold colour, they had very fine skins and tasted as sweet as coud be.  The varieties I've seen now all look slightly anaemic in comparison. :(

I really enjoyed the flavour of the Golden Nugget we grew last year, until the botrytis got them. :(

Sounds good - hope your weather is warming. Is yellow pear something you can get in UK?
