sunflowers

does anyone know if the flowers will still open (I have them in a vase) 

Well I'm sure you have found out by now, but just to add confirmation, my sunflower which got blown over a few days ago (which I hadn't got round to picking up yet  ) is flowering. I presume the flower is feeding off the content of the thick albeit hollow stem.
