Too much snow!!!
« on: November 30, 2010, 12:35 »
We have had about 3-4ft of snow with more forecast. I planted an evergreen laurel hedge early last year which is doing well. It is now completely flattened with snow. Should I brush it off as I have with the conifers or leave it as it is and hope for the best?

Laurel is a tough brute.  It will recover whatever you do.  I should save your strength.

If you're worried, then do give it a brush off. I get a lot of heavy snow here and I often shake out snow clumps weighing down my branches. I'm the only house in town without broken branches on shrubs or trees because I do this. 3-4 ft of snow is heavier than people realize.
