Thanks all.

I have obtained a thermometer and have cooked at 140 deg, 160 deg, 170 deg, and 190 deg.  Same result each time 

Could it be duff baking powder?

Did you check it with a skewer/knife to check that it was actually cooked in the middle before you took it out?

I did check it on each occasion - wasn't cooked, but after over an hour in the oven (recipe says 35 to 45 mins) and it going black on top, I gave up and got it out anyway!

Try to make the mix a little drier, is the next plan of action.......maybe the courgettes had a lot of moisture in them

Will do.  It's just odd that the recipe always used to work in the old oven.

Hmmmm.  More testing sessions and raw cake mix.  It's a tough life but ...
