Hi
Have mentioned this in my new member post but thought I'd post it here too...Does anyone have an idea for something 'flowery' I can grow over an arch on the lotty. I have all the usual companion planting annuals but would like something permanent. It will sit between my raised beds so need something with non invasive roots...not sure if there is something that fits the bill...any ideas???

Hi,

We've got a few arches on our lottie and depending on where they're situated (parts of ours can be like a wind tunnel) we've got some honeysuckles and jasmine - you could also try some clemantis. If it's fairly sheltered and sunny you could try passion flowers too. Not sure how invasive climbing hydranga is but that's another option.

Many thanks, I'll investigate the growth rate of each of your suggestions.

yes, I did think about clematis but not sure if it will flourish on heavy clay. Our plot gets very waterlogged.
