Moso Bamboo

Anyone tried growing Moso Bamboo from seed ?

AS part of my green lotty plan, i plan to grow a big patch of bamboo, so im not using bamboo thats flown thousands of miles. I just got 30 seeds on ebay, but is there a trick to germinating them ?

Must say, my first thoughts are:-

If it is so easy to grow here (and I know bamboo can grow up to a metre a day in the right conditions) every bright spark with a field would be growing it , considering the price of canes.

If it grows to 40 feet, you may get a a few canes for your runners, at least.
