To late for Aquadulce Claudia BB?
« on: March 29, 2013, 18:16 »
Just got a second allotment and looking at what to throw in that doesn't need much attention. I've got a packet of these, but instructions say to sow in Oct/Jan. I know other varieties can be sown up until July. Any reason why they wouldn't produce a crop?

None whatsoever  :)

Just plant them - they (A. Claudia) grow in all seasons unlike others that are summer only.

mine are in pots, went in two weeks and one week ago. Tomorrow I will put some direct in beds in polytunnel (should have been perhaps 3 weeks earlier but did not happen as I was in Norway). If ground dry enough this coming week I will put some outside. Not at all late compared to last year and we are still eating them from freezer after they did very well
Go for it

I grew these that last year and they did really well.

The black fly loved them too unfortunately, so nip out the growing top when theyre flowering and it stop the little blighters!

Either that or grow done nasturtium nearby

Excellent, I'll throw some in pots in the greenhouse and wait until it warms up a bit.
