Title: Aylesbury ducks
Post by: janz70 on July 02, 2017, 15:35
Hi all I have just got 5 ducks - 1 runner and 4 aylesburys  along with some chickens to replace my flock that was slaghtered by a fox last week.

They are 10 months old but non are showing a curly sex feather to indicate if any are male, I think they sound female but its the first time keeping ducks and I know nothing. The guy I bought them off thought they were a pair of each but no eggs so far.

I will post a few photos later to see if anybody can ID them

PS what size rings will fit a large aylesbury as these are very large for a duck, they are more like a small goose.

They are lovely, but I'm not a duck person, so can't help with the ID.  I'm sure someone will be along with some advice soon  :)

Thanks, they are very cute and the runner is very clumsy and falls over quite a bit LOL

I can't see a curly drake tail feather in any of them. My runner drakes is really obvious. He also rasps rather than quacks the females are really loud, but saying that I would have thought they should be in lay by now
