Albertine
« on: June 28, 2010, 20:06 »
If anyone wants to know of a fast growing prickly climbing rose, I would recommend Albertine, a lightly fragrant old fashioned style pink flower, very prolific. We put ours in two years ago to stop the kids climbing over the fence to fetch their footballs, they're much more careful where they kick it now!  (we have a playing field behind us)

My parents were like you with petals, Dad cut down a wonderful cherry once because the flowers made a mess......then had the audacity to drop it's leaves in the autumn too!   Seriously though, I am not the type to worry about petals, though OH  is inclined to rush out and clear up. They soon disappear....and no doubt pup will eat some (if she gets returned!)
