can anyone tell me if you can take  daffodil and tulip bulbs out of the troughs and tubs and put them in trays or boxes loose for summer storage ?

I think you should really allow the leaves to die down first or the bulbs won’t be built up enough to make good flowers next year.  You might be able to carefully re home them in the flower beds to let them complete their growth…  or buy new bulbs for the containers next year.

If you need the pots to plant up again it’s best to heel the removed bulbs in,in an out of the way spot, ideally dig a trench & line with wire mesh, then the bulbs, a bit deeper than they were, then back fill with soil. Then in July/ August, you can pull or dig up the mesh & harvest the bulbs ready to plant again.
