having got our onion crops of two weeks ago  i have now cultivating the ground and sowed my green manure crop mustard i just hope its not to late to sow  mustard seed as i usually sow before this time

As far as I'm aware no, I think it can be sown as late as September, at least in southern counties.

Hope not as I’ll be grubbing up my strawberries in the next 2 weeks ( too much blight on the fruit) and sowing green manure in their place. I usually sow in September.

I sowed fenugreek green manure a week or so ago and am planning to sow more.  The ones I have give dates for sowing up to September :

Fenugreek and fodder radish until August
Phacelia and winter tares until September

I don’t think there be a problem with germination, but obviously the weather will play a part as to how much top growth they put on.  Where I am we tend to have fairly mild weather into the autumn, so hopefully they will get away and provide what I need.

that's my line  of thinking New shoot because it does tend to be a bit milder here in the south than north so as you say depending on the weather hopefully we will see a crop of mustard
