Hi,
At this rate ill be needing a needle to hollow out my pumpkin this Halloween! The one ive got in the garden has grown about 3 new leaves, and id say about 4" in trailing since i got it all those months ago. Its regularly fed and watered and ive pushed a few fertiliser tablets into the ground near it recently.
What can i be doing wrong?

Being impatient!

Mine are just starting to take off now.

Mine seem to have doubled in size over the last week or so.

I guess they like a bit of like the rest of us.

Mine two are taking over a 12ft square space with two pumpins almost the size of footballs!! and about five small ones !! I just dug a hole put in some well rotted manure top the whole with compost. They are in a very sunny position so maybe the sun is making them grow well! I water them everday! and Feed once a week!

I'm not far from Sheffield (Near Ponty). My pumpkins were looking a bit yellow and sickly, I gave them a foliar feed (miracle grow) and in the last week or so have started to look a lot better. Still only little but a lot more new growth showing.

I sowed mine right back at the beginning of May and was worried about them turning into monsters. Instead, they sat and sulked for weeks and weeks and weeks, despite watering, manure and miracle grow. However, just this week they've suddenly taken off and become triffids!   The trailing bits are honestly growing about 6 inches a day!!! No flowers as of last night, but it wouldn't surprise me if there are some tonight when I get home!

Also - do you have to take off some of the fruit so the remainder grows larger ?
