I just hand wash mine in warm soapy water and rinse pull them back into shape if needed and hang out to dry but i press them just before compleatly dry so any creases come out easilyits just the way i do it .
What have you been sewing .

Thanks Chrissie - just the way I thought. Earlier this year I finished two hangers for the fireplace depicting the Twelve Days of "Festive Time" so got back into the mood for it. I've done two more that will be framed. One is for the guest bedroom door and one for the bathroom door. Currently, I'm doing another one as a "festive" present  for my grand niece's bedroom door of all the things she loves which includes food, fish, dandelions, a swing with a robin on top, our cats, a musical dancing clown, a ball, a kite and a big red heart that reads "I love my mum and dad." At the top I have a rainbow and will sew two bluebirds (one on either side) but not sure whether to connect them with a ribbon or something, or maybe not. I use Jo Verso's books which are a joy to use, and love the way she portrays things so well which you can adjust to what you want. Thanks for your help.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I've been plodding on with an embroidery piece, but its slow going.  Partly because it is fiddly stuff and partly because I am not a patient person and have to be in the mood for it  ::)

Anyway, it is a garden scene that is sort of realistic, but also with a bit of artistic license to give a nice result in the frame it is eventually going in.

The main features go in - wisteria hanging over a daphne and flowering cherry shrub

Then they are completed and some of the smaller plants go in.  I still have to put the leaves on the forget-me-nots.

Give me another 6 months and you may see it finished in its frame

I'm ahead of schedule

That is a delightful and charming piece, New shoot.  Where are you going to hang it ?

Where are you going to hang it ?

Not sure yet.  It is a frame you can hang or stand, so it has pride of place on the mantle piece at the moment.

I've done a couple of others before but given them as gifts.  Its nice to have one to keep  :D

Thank you all for all the kind words and congratulations  :D

I'm building myself up for a summer flower one now to while away the winter evenings.  This may take some time

It's lovely to see the darker canvas rather than the far more usual cream / white.  Looks a bit more vintage  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I agree with Yorkie - it is stunning! It takes a lot more time to do than most people think and it's also how to organise and place things so they look right. With my cross-stitch I draw items on graph paper, cut them out, then use Post-It glue to arrange them on my graph master plan. As I go along, more ideas come into my head which I want to add. With my latest one I've added a little kite and used back-stitch for the string which I sewed where I felt it looked right rather than drawing it on my plan. I'm on with the border now then I'll see if I can add anything else I need. Hope the attachment comes out ok.

Did you have a pattern for your pic or just made it up as you sewed

I used Jo Verso's book for the individual items then placed each one where I thought it would look best, but also made things up as I went along.
