What height do they really mean ?
« on: May 13, 2011, 11:57 »
Yesterday I bought a Lornicera (Honeysuckle) Henryi 'Copper Beauty'.   The label said - maximum height 3 metres - when I got home I googled it to learn more and found out that it is a fairly new variety and it was stated as growing to 10 metres !!!!!
Now I am not very good at metres (I am a feet and inches lady), but I worked out that 3 m
is about 10 feet.   So is the google bit wrong did they really mean 10 feet do you think.

Perhaps if you have this plant, or can find out more you could let me know.  Thanks, Mrs Bouquet

No idea about the plant, but the same as you I'm angry at the infiltration of foreign measurements by stealth.  Even the time has gone when 'they' stated the dimension in our system but only as a reminder.  What can be done to stem this invasion. ?  ?  ?  Cheers,   Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

Yes, it will be a typo and should say 10 feet which is indeed about 3 metres. 1 metre approx. = 39 inches. :) I have googled the plant too and have found other references to 3 metres.... but if it did grow to 10 metres you could always keep it trimmed back!  :tongue2:
