all year carrots

hi all

ive working out what im growing next year and saw these

can you really get these all year round from a spring and autumn sowing?

any advice would be great.

No reason why not  :)

They are early carrots which means they grow quickly, so late summer sowings should be big enough to stand the winter.

I have had success with Autumn King at this time in the yera as well, even though they are big main crop ones.

What you won't get however, is carrots germinating outside all year round of course  :nowink: :nowink:

so would i say do 2 big plantings, once in spring and one in autumn to carry me through the year

I add in another sowing mid summer as I like baby carrots  :)

Mind you, I have not had many to eat this year due to me not protecting them enough from carrot fly.

Investing in environmesh or using very fine new curtain to ensure they never ever have the chance to lay egges in the tops of your carrots is not a wasted effort if you want edible carrots.

Trust me (and all those others who have learned the hard way  ;) ;) )

Well I DID do the mesh.
No carrot fly but nearly as much damage caused by slugs even though I kept up the organic blue pills!
Can't win.... :( ::)
