Hi everyone

Just wondered if it's ok to worm our chooks with flubenvet whilst they are on baytril antibiotic?

They haven't been wormed yet as we have only had them 5 weeks and the poor things have been on tylan and baytril already!!
They are on the baytril to try and knock the myco on the head that they have had pretty much since we got them (which thankfully seems to be working and they seem very happy - touch wood!

They will finish the baytril on Friday so should we wait till then,leave it for week or so after they have finished the baytril or worm them now?

I only ask because when I was poo picking their run tonight in one bit of poo (sorry to be graphic here!) it looked like a tiny bit of raw mince in their. It didn't look like a worm and certainly wasn't moving and I thought it might be just a little bit of their inside coming away?

Any thoughts/advice would be gratefully  received as always.

Hi Tracy66,  I have wormed my chooks whilst on antibiotics, no problems.

Yes, you can give them both but it's a good idea once both have ceased to give them some pro-biotic yoghurt (unflavoured) to restore the good gut bacteria that will have been removed by the wormer and antibiotic. I also tend to put some poultry vitamins in their water for a couple of days after just to give them a bit of a boost.
