So at the moment the manure is just spread on a section of the plot with more due to arrive. Would it be beneficial to cover it over with membrane? It's a mix of old and new manure.

I'm interested in no dig, however my plot is heavy clay and hasn't been turned over for years So my plan is to rotovate half of it then no dig that half. with raised beds on the other and still go for no dig.

The manure thing is a nightmare. so many catch 22's I do also grow banana plants so was thing of fresh manure is a cold frame with compost on top of the manure to keep them warmer over winter.

Apparently you call also grow melons and pineapples straight on to manure

According to what I’ve read on no dig there would be need to dig even clay soil, as that would hinder the success of the no dig & all that it promotes    which is keeping all the fungi’s & other beneficial balances in the soil. I know not every one is a fan of it but I do wonder if they have actually tried it as it is recommended. I certainly see a difference just after 2 years on my plot. But it was cultivated traditionally prior to then & that is what some people seem to put as a reason my crops have done so well.
