egg in jelly

hi all, went out to open up the girls this morning, to find a egg sitting ontop of what looked like clear jelly, the egg was very messy and sticky too,  i had a look at all four girls and they all seemed ok  ( eating and drinking all ok )  can anybody help  thankyou

A fresh egg white is very jelly like. Maybe it got squashed or it had a soft shell which they do sometimes

The jelly-like egg white is what tells you that you have a fresh egg. It's only when eggs start to age that the white becomes runny like you get from the supermarket.  The egg, when as  fresh as this is great for poaching as it keeps itself together beautifully
