What are people views on which antibiotic is the best for respiratory infections???

I have used Aureomycin powder which you put in the water..... Baytril that I have given to an individual hen that looked like she had myco.... but have never tried Tylan....

Anyone in the know as to which one I should get.... My vet is willing to do a script for whichever I want so just up to me to decide!!!

Only ever used Baytril, and was amazed at the speed of recovery in the birds

never used baytril but have used aureomycin, tylan and denagard all of which has worked although for two chickens who were really bad I had to use both the denegard and aureo together.

I recently had 6 of my hens go down with Mycoplasma at different times. An old hand at chicken breeding gave me some Tylan to use. I made it up at 1 teaspoon to a pint and syringed it into the hens mouth at 5 ml twice a day. The only available drinking water was made up of Tylan as well. 2 were terribly ill with bubbles from the nose and a swollen head but within 4-5 days they were all running round feeding again. Hope this helps . Although it may be  late information for you, it could help someone in the future.

All information is helpful..... i dont have anyone desperately ill at the moment touch wood.... but one hen is gaping and sounds chesty..... am worming her at the moment, double dose for gapeworm and then will hit the chestyness.....

Might opt for the Tylan this time....
