Hi,
I have recently bought one of these 6.5hp chinese rotovators and have today snapped a tine - can you give you ive me the details of who to contact in the USA  to see if thety can supply me with a replacement part please

Already got problems? snapped a tine? Someone responded that these machines build solid as rock  ::) Shake your seller first. Another option is - go to your local warehouse, which selling branded agri machines and check if branded tine(or do you think chinese created that machine from scratch?) can fit.

For the future, i can guess, that parts for engine you (theoretically ) can get from chinese made lawnmowers or petrol generators or petrol engine driven water pumps. Belt - from your local car/scooter shop, just bring old one to be sure about size

Bought of ebay? I would never ever buy anything from ebay  stamped "made in China" (hope that ebay UK is not exactly ebay)

Hi all
have had a read at what peeps is putting down about ebay rotavators, have had a play with some at my plot as we have 100 ish plots and i made the mistake of repairing a cannon 8 that had not moved for two years for one of the plot holders so have seen good and bad i got a lot of parts from ebay and local auto factors most run of the shelf parts as they are copies of somthing else, just sorted a strimer out for a chap new to site it was a copy of a Stil and would not run new plug sorted it as copy plugs are us,but the choke is upside down off was on and on was off ,
as for drive belts take your old one to your local auto factors (eg euro car parts)and they will match up poss it will be a gates one then keeep the number for next time price about £5
thanks

There are dozens of rotovators on our allotments, of all different makes and models, some cheap, and some expensive. All of them - bar from one new one, have trouble starting, and the method for getting them to go is:

Remove the plug lead and the spark plug.

Inject/pour a small amount of neat petrol into the top of the cylinder.

Put everything back together.

Set the throttle on low/medium revs.

Pull the starting cord, and away she goes.

I've not yet seen that method fail - first time, every time.
I may be Welsh, but I love ewe anyway!

I've seen it fail a few times :)
Particularly if the original Chinese spark plug hasn't been changed  ;)

hi, i bought a neilsen 6.5hp rotavator last year,it was a dodle to set up and started first pull, then after about 5mins it stalled, started again on the first pull but after a while it died again.i guess it is to do with the fuel mixture but im not sure how to set it up as there was no instruction manual with it and i cant find anyone who has a service manual,so its been sat in the shed for the last year.the last time i had to set the fuel mixture on a carb it was tighten the screw then unscrew 3.5 turns.does anyone know what it is for this model or where i can get the manual from.

thanks rob

I didn't see this thread before my other Roto post, but would one of the people who own a Maxtra or Neilsen 6.5hp kindly help me out with a copy of the manual please.

For the information of others, I believe my roto is at least 8 years old and is still going strong.  There is the occasional good quality item that comes out of China.........apparently.

I'm not sure you'll get a reply on such an old thread.

I'm not sure that any of these members are still active on the forum  :(

You didn't mention the make. There is no guarantee that the tynes from a Nieilsen will fit a Maxtra for instance. Why go to the US? Postage on anything from there has become prohibitively expensive over the last few years, whereas from China direct, it is often so cheap, you wonder how they do it. Try Googling the maker, you may come up with a UK importer that wasn't of the Twistem, Grabit and Run variety, also eBay vendors list tynes for some Chinese makes.
