Dr Ruppel Clematis
« on: October 27, 2023, 15:03 »
Hello Everyone :nowink:
We have a Dr Ruppel Clematis planted in a BIG plastic tub which is sat at the front of our shed on block paving. This year it climbed up as usual but had no flowers  :(  At the end of September we cut it down to soil level & covered it with a mulch as we normally do but it has already grown about 8" (20cm) tall  ???
Our question is :- Do we just leave it to grow or do we cut it back again before winter. We did re-pot it at the end of September (2022) into this bigger tub which is 20" dia' x 24" deep.
Any thoughts will be gratefully received.   :D

Personally I'd leave it and see how the new shoots do over winter.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
