Voles
« on: May 30, 2023, 15:55 »
Hi, I'm new here and hope I'm posting in the right place.  I'm used to gardening with wild boar and deer around in Italy but have now moved back to UK and got an allotment with a completely new range of feeding clients.  I recently planted a strawberry patch but I was told the voles/mice eat the fruit!  Could anyone advise me if I should protect them in some way?  I have netted to keep birds away but I had not considered subterranean attack.  I do not wish to kill the little critters but I would like to keep them off my fruit!

I’m not sure about voles but I have used mouse traps where needed.
Afraid mine were the conventional lethal sort but you can buy humane ones.
I can’t say if the humane ones work the traditional ones do.
Keep digging
