We've got six which have been there for about three years, there's only two of us and it keeps us going.  Any surplus (very few) may get passed on but not often!

I bought 6 x 3 varieties on offer from Pomona a few years back, not all survived,so I’ve done some from seed this year to supplement them lol. There’s only me here that likes it really although I did have a few to give to our daughter but not really masses so far.

I would aim for around 10 to 12 crowns depending on size of bed.
You won’t get a serious crop for around 3 years after planting the crowns.
The great thing is though that once they start cropping they get bigger every year and can last up to 20 years. Good luck HH

I’d go with more if I were you.I have 20 plants which is enough for two of us eating every other day as there’s not much else around at that time of year.
