Chutney Reboil
« on: November 25, 2020, 07:26 »
Can I empty, large jars of green tomato  chutney ,Reboil, and jar into clean smaller ones. No small jars and was given loads of tomatoes.
I  made about 8 weeks .
My gut feeling says I should not do this.
Regards

Yes, as long as you do bring up to boil for a few minutes, and sterilize new jars and caps, you should be fine :)
I've done it before,
Careful the bottom doesn't burn though - says she from experience  ::)

I've done it as well following the disappearance of my small jars. my husband never owned up BUT! As long as you boil it for a couple of minutes.
