An interesting research project that you can help with run by researchers from the University of Sheffield. How self-sufficient are we? What contribution could own-growing make to our food supply?

Just signed up. Will be recording growing, gathering and eating details. Hopefully to inspire/encourage me to do better at the plot. You choose your own start day so have gone for 1at September.

I've signed up too. This could be very interesting, and maybe result in the provision of more allotments, and perhaps even new homes with sufficient garden for veg plots.

I think I might give this a go. Often wondered exactly how much the garden does produce. Tend not to be aware when gathering on a sort of daily basis. Joining this project would give more pupose to the counting/ weighhing that would be involved. I'll start my diary on 1 October as that is when my garden year starts.

My diary arrived on Monday, so I've started it today as it's the 1st September. I would be very interested in the conclusions drawn from the research once all of the information is collated and analysed. It should be very interesting.

I've just applied, its been accepted and will wait for the response, we think several of the allotmenters will be up for this, perhaps helping someone get their PHD!
