If you're a paxo person like me, crush a couple of cloves of garlic into it. Imporves the flavour 100% (also extra black pepper or whatever you fancy, it makes shop bought more your own)

POXO STUFFING!. Why spoil a good meal.

I posted this elsewhere, I'm sure you can find the 10mins you need to make it.

DD's Homemade stuffing.

Soak 4 slices bread, squeeze out excess water.
Add a small, finely chopped onion, one egg, fresh or dried herbs to taste and a liberal sprinkling of suet.

(Sorry quantities are not precise, I've never weighed them, just thrown them in! Don't think it matters too much).

Mix well with fork until all ingredients are well blended.

Place in oiled pyrex dish & stick in oven 45 mins before you serve.

Never stuff the cavity - it stops the bird cooking from the inside.

Sorry this is not a vegetarian/vegan stuffing, the egg binds it and the suet makes it fluffy & light. I believe you can get veggie suet, but never tried it.

This is enough for about 6 people with appetites. Adjust quantities to suit.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

You might like to do some of your stuffing with a fruity element - chopped dried apricots works well with stripped lemon zest. or get some fresh herbs if you can and add them to your mixture.

Medium oatmeal / Porage Oats (half and half)
Suet or lard
Chopped onions
herbs to taste

No idea on quantities but mixture goes into bird looking pretty dry.   Use (much) less suet for a (goose) or duck.

[As DD. says, a veggie / vegan may want to use veggie suet to stuff their turkey/chicken/goose/duck           ]

How could I forget one of the major ingredients ...

Rennies (2 per person) : do not mix in.  Serve on a small sideplate approx 2 hours after the main meal.  Repeat as necessary.
