Title: Potato blight
Post by: Anton 2 on July 24, 2021, 16:34
Help please. I presume my semi earlies have got blight (see photos) They would have been out of the ground last month if the weather had been normal, not so cold.
I have cut off the foliage, and I imagine I have to wait two  weeks before lifting the potatoes (any earlier than that?).
I read that even if some of the potatoes are infected they will not infect the ones that have escaped the dreaded lurgy. Any experience with that anyone?

Hi Anton

I've usually heard that 2 weeks is the right period to leave it after removing the foliage, so I'd stick to that.

I'm not sure about the contamination query in your final para, sorry.

Thanks a lot for replying, Yorkie.
I want't to plant some Chinese cabbage (I have in pots) as soon as I can lift the potatoes.
