With all the cold, wind and rain, I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the polytunnel this morning. All the tomato plants are thriving, and I even have buds on my Amish Paste tomato plants. Several days ago, I cut down a tree that was shading the polytunnel and what a difference it made instantly. The hot peppers have responded and perked right up. The straw bales are a definite winner in the polytunnel. I don't have a soaker hose on them in there, like I do with the ones outside. So I do have to water something one day or another, but it isn't a problem, by any stretch of the imagination!
