Title: what plants for a hanging basket?

want to hang one by our front door, south facing so plenty of sun

what could I put in there that is colourful but fairly easy to maintain?

any advice much appreciated!

I live in a very windy place so they can dry out considerably even with regular watering, but this year I tried Scaevola (does grow upwards so plant lower down) and ordinary begonias which are lovely and have done well. There's always Lobelia, trailing petunias, tagetes, Bacopa, ivy, then see what others say.
