hi,
Last weekend I pre-ordered a goose. I have cooked it before, on a couple of occasions, but not in the particular oven I now have. I last cooked it a few years ago. I forget how LONG it was. Now I'm at work, worrying if it will fit!!!
12-14lbs is the goose on order. Anyone with ideas how long it will be? The oven is wider than it is long, it will take a full size roasting tin.

Ooops! Big goose, well I don't know how big, but heavy for sure. Mine is about 4200g, would make that near 9lb? It is about 40cm long, just about squeezes into my roasting dish.
I don't know how much geese vary in size, might be just a fatter one? :? You hope!

That poor goose must be getting a bit fed up by now Mushroom

surely scorched a bit, too, Aunty.

Hence the expression, "your goose is cooked".
A 6kg goose is a big goose, mushroom. I couldn't be accurate about the length but I'm willing to guess about 55cm

He can always cut the legs of and just do a 'crown'.

The oven is 40cm wide
:!: Maybe we should have a sweep about whether the goose is too big for the oven, and by what amount. The winner gets a jar of my home-made halaberno paste 8)
My girlfriend is ripping the p*** out of me, and i think I deserve it. You see, i've got to cook the goose! :?

Well my guess is hereby formalised at "Yes, by 15cm".
And I can personally vouch for the validity of the prize - wonderful stuff - mushroom's Halle Berry paste is HOT STUFF (like the actress herself)

Mushy, I think, you should make this into a poll. Did I say that I love a poll.
How about asking the company though?

It should fit in ,our oven is a similar size and a 12 pound goose fit in last year on a slight angle on the roasting dish. We`ll soon know!

Thank you for the compliment :)
How do I set up a poll on a pre-existing topic? (I know how to start one at the beginning of a new topic)

You coud try editing your first post but I think that won't work so you'll have to get a moderator to do it for you mushroom. Just post your voting categories and it will be done for you as if by magic

Don't think a poll is suitable here (only 10 options, voting is anonymous).
Plus, I don't think polls are enabled in Cooking Forum

Was going to ask for an update, but I guess I'll head off to 'off topic' for the answer I might be searching for :?
