I have just bought some purple sprouting brocolli plug plants as I have only just got my 4th and last raised bed constructed.

My question is how tall does PSP grow?

I know I will need to net the bed but not sure how tall to make the frame for the netting

I haven't grown it for a while, but I think my last lot grew to about 4ft.  Bent over something terrible in the winds as I didn't realise I should have staked them!

Annie is about right, 4 ft high and a stout stake by every plant is a must. You really need a space above of at least a foot to allow the sprouts to sprout unhindered and you to pick them.

Do not feed them. Let them make a tough framework that will see them through the Winter. Perhaps give them some nitrogen when you see the first signs of new growth in the Spring.

my purple sprouting grew to over 5ft tall,some of them leaned over,but staking would be

advisable especially if they are in an exposed area.

The stalks where about 4-5 inches across
