Last night we picked and ate our first crop of runner beans nad they were yummy!!

Does anyone know the best way to deal with the extras?  I put them into boiling water then brought them back to the boil then dunked them into cold water then into the freezer - is this best or have i done it all wrong?

We picked our first runner beans Sunday night too! All the veg on our Sunday dinner that night was home grown; carrot, courgette, beans, kohl rabi, spuds, cabbage, chard and about 6 peas! Never grown enough runners before to end up with a glut, but like the idea of the chutney. Otherwise it'll be blanching & freezing for us aswell.

Our are comming to the end. we grew Celebration ,they are very early, top flavour and stringless we have had pounds and pounds for the last 6 weeks or so, most very young and lots  in the freezer. We will grow the same again next year.
