P.S.B.
« on: February 12, 2023, 12:47 »
Good morning everyone,  after a major burning of wood offcuts, planings and sawdust along with fruit tree and shrub prunings, I have sieved the ash and dug it into a bed.

Finally...to the question, can I sow PSB (NOT calabrese) seeds undercover now and get a crop this year?

Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

Not sure standard PSB would mature without a cold snap, but you could try Summer PSB or maybe even Tenderstem Broccoli which produces lots of shoots rather than one big head. I’ve been meaning to sow some myself as it was really good when I grew it last year.

Yeah you can get PSB now that doesn't need vernalization. I'm going to try it this year after all mine died this winter. Will sow it inside in modules end of February and put them out start of April, weather permitting, under fleece until they are established
