Hi shez.   I use pellets.... They are easy, clean, my girls LOVE them and if I want to give them a warm mash in the winter, pellets can be used as mash.

If I could use the pellets, I would too.  My princesses (I love that!) like the mash and so we mix it with porridge and Poultry Spice, warm water and they dive right in.
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

we use pellets, and if i do some porridge type mix, just use the pellets and add warm water, weetabix and a handfull of porridge oats, the pellets mash down anyway, lovely.

Pellets, not so much mess, just add hot water if you want to give them a hot mash, or use porridge.  Our house is nuts 4 bowls of porridge in the morning me the husband, the dog and the chickens.
