I've done a search and can't find the answer, so....

i have a coldframe which is portable and normally i put it in a different place every year (after cleaning) for my carrots.
This year i didn't move it and i was wondering if i can still put carrots in it, so they are in the same place as before, or if i should move the frame to new ground or if i should put something else in the frame (bearing in mind that the lid has been on all winter so the ground should be nice and warm)
the soil isn't *very* deep and clay and stony (obv not that bad in that spot cos the carrots didn't fork) but it now has sharp sand in it following another thread.
what does everyone think?

Carrots are *best* rotated, but if you didn't have pest or disease problems last year you'll probably get away with another year's crop on the same spot.  After that, though, rotate or you'll find the nutrients are getting unbalanced.

I think, from what Trillium told me about carrot fly larvae, that not moving them is asking for trouble. Fleece can't keep them away if they are coming up from the ground right amongst your carrots.
