Title: What can I start off now?
Post by: adri on September 28, 2013, 15:23
Hi.  In our 54' PT today it's lovely and warm.

Whilst I'm finishing off setting up staging and raised beds I thought I might start off a couple of trays of things.

Am I right in saying Pak Choi is still ok to sow now?

Any other suggestions please???

TIA

Adri

Sent off for some seeds in the hope of being able to start a few items off.

Pak Choi and some winter salads etc.

Will they need to germinate in the house and then be transferred to the PT?  Or can they just be sown in seed trays in the PT even at this late date?

TIA

It helps to put your location in your profile so we can see where you are ;) :)

I've sown some pak choi and tatsoi in the greenhouse along with a very hardy pea and some radishes, but I am in the apparently warm southwest ::)

DT Browns did a good overwintering leaf pack this year ;)

just received some Pak Choi seeds.

Is there any point in sowing a few now and would they need to germinate indoors or would in the PT be good enough?

TIA

I sow mine in the polytunnel  ;)

Thx Mum.

Will start a tray off (the first tray of anything in the new PT) this evening.

Definitely seems odd sowing anything at this time of year but I suppose that's the magic of the PT.
