your Caucasian Ovcharka is gorgeous - weight wise they seem to be about the same as my Neapolitan Mastiff but with the thick double fur of my Newfoundland.
I guess there aren't many of then here in the UK, although like the Tibetan Mastiff I'm sure they will quickly become popular.
Like with the Neapolitan you need to be a dominant person so that they know you are the pack leader.

Yes very! Right from day one he hated being told what to do. He would fight and fight! Had to quickly learn how to redirect his stubborn nature else it would have been running battles!
 I wouldn't recommend one as a pet at all, great for a guard dog and to just be with your animals while you're busy elsewhere

just looking at one on a Romanian dog rescue page on facebook at the moment which is why I had already looked them up. My o/h is undecided on this dog, a great dane or another mastiff (ideally a Neapolitan - which are just as stubborn and dominant but oh so loveable in an ugly kind of way)

I promise you they are not just as stubborn and dominant!
Caucasians are the most hard headed dogs you can get!
Even the happy go lucky ones like mine are still off the chart.
Only a wolf would be more strong minded.

My Ols is mega stubborn and her dominance has led to a few serious fights between her and my old girl but she now knows  that I will always win the battle of the wills and that I am the pack leader. We are now into our 12th week without a fight so I think we have had a break through
