Title: Insect Mesh?
Post by: DanielH on April 10, 2022, 09:50
Hi everyone.

I'm fairly new to allotment growing and hoping for a little advice on insect Mesh.  Last year I suffered a lot of aphid infestation on Brussels and Kale which put the misses off eating 😬.  I was using quite a wide standard netting at the time. Would people suggest going for a finer insect netting this year? I'm a little concerned over sunlight penetration and whether this could be effected?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and apologies if this has been asked before.

Thanks
Daniel

we use fine mesh or environmental  mesh and it works just one thing to remember the net must be fixed to the raised bed or ground properly as not to let those pests in and as said its best to shop around but get a quality brand so it lasts
