Too hot for nest box
« on: June 05, 2010, 22:29 »
One of my girls has obviously decided it been far too hot to sit in the nest box and lay. so she's taken to laying her egg in the shade of a large fern in the garden. I hope when the weather cools a bit she'll go back to the box or they'll get covered in mud!

she will do, but just in case buy a pot egg to place in the nest box to remind her where to go and lay. One of mine goes into our utility room and always lays on top of the tumble dryer
Staffies are softer than you think.

She's the only one laying at the minute as the others are just coming out of being broody again. I'm sure once they start laying she'll go back to doing it in the nest box, especially if it starts raining soon. :D
