courtesy of the pheasants i got today
1/2 cup flour  
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 pheasant dressed out .use 2 if you wanna put more meat on the table ,use breasts n legs . boil the rest for stock for n hour fast
1/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/8 tsp pepper
2 big bramley  apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup apple cider .....bulmers
2 tbls wine vinegar




 
Preheat oven to 350F.
 get ya bowl, mix  the flour, salt and pepper.
 Cut the pheasant into serving pieces and thoroughly coat each piece with the flour mixture.
 Melt the butter in a large skillet, add the pheasant and brown on both sides.
 Remove pieces a casserole and sprinkle with the salt, pepper and thyme.
 Stir in the apple slices, mix the cider and vinegar and pour over the pheasant and apples.
 Cover and bake 1 1/4 hours.

Thanks for that muntjac.  I've got a couple of jointed pheasants in the freezer.

I'll have a go at this one  :D

Hope you enjoyed your pheasant tonight karl.  We had fish cakes made with a nice wild brown trout. Mash, parsley splash of lemon juice and one of Gerty's fresh eggs to bind. Fried in olive oil.  Lovely  :D

mine was smurfing lovly ty . fresh greens  swede n carrots onions tatties .( sparrowgrass from the freezer ) n no empty plates  :lol:

We had our pheasants last night using your recipy Karl.

Had to use chicken stock instead of pheasant stock and I only had one apple.

But it was lovely  :D
