Can someone tell me what weed it is in the attached photo please. It's also clingy & sticks to clothing. Thanks.

It is Cleavers or we call it sticky back.  Once it gets a hold its a nightmare.  Get it out now.

Thanks both, I looked it up on the RHS site & it's  also called Goose Grass.  I think mumofstig's name sounds like a Doctor is needed!

Its goose grass I've just mowed some grass verges its every where,there is a proposal to put it on to the protected plants register    jezza

Jezza, protect goose grass?  They obviously don't check on allotments do they.  As if we don't get enough weeds on lotties as it is!  Must be every weed & pest known to man living on our site.

I too know it as sticky Willy, be good to find out the origin of these colloquial names for plants wouldn’t it ? , make the mind boggle sometimes
