Hi , strange title i know , but our young roses have this film around them and it feels like wax , so we had to peel it off, some of it looked like it was eating into the branches , i hope you can help , thanks

Were they newly bought plants? If so, it is what's left of the coating they receive while dormant, to stop them drying out completely before they're planted - and nothing to worry about. As the stems get bigger the wax drops off.
